The Media and News Coverage form Conflict Areas

Before or during a military conflict media coverage of it is of essential relevance. Western governments may rely on their intelligence agencies but for independent researchers and the general public news articles often are the only up-to-date source of information.
That puts the media in the position to apply political pressure by priming and framing their coverage of a specific conflict. They are to a certain point even agenda setters. This places the responsibility for early and comprehensive coverage on them. Often they shirk it. Small conflicts are often neglected. Admittedly sometimes reporters risk their lives to report from the middle of a conflict.
